"Mark possesses an ability that never ceases to amaze. He takes an assignment or concept, even at the 9th hour, and brings it to completion with little to no direction. He has an unparalleled understanding in visual media and adds a unique perspective to any assignment. One thing I can always count on is the quality and creativity will always be spot on." Michael Brooks Publisher South Magazine
Do you travel for photoshoots? Yes, I travel anywhere my job takes me. It does't matter if I have not seen the location previously. New eyes see things from a fresh perspective. Whether its within state, or out of the country I am always excited to be creative where ever the assignment takes me. Whenever possible I do like to see the location before hand.
What is the cost for your work? Good and cheap do not equate. Day rate or half day depends on the complexity of the shoot. Is there pre-production involved such as site visit or location scouting? Will there be models? If so, amateur models take longer to direct, and more time in production than do professional models. Some clients feel its cheaper to hire amateurs. However you get more bang for the buck with someone who has experience, takes direction well, and the shooter can concentrate more on lighting, concept and technical aspects, instead of basically training and directing someone who is not used to being on set. This cost also factors into the photographic fees.
The complexity of a shoot also is a price factor. How many different scenarios, or sets are to be photographed? How many people are involved? Is there pre-production with set and props? Are we co-ordinating hair and makeup stylists and associated fees. Travel expenses - If a location is a considerable distance, or flights, shipping of gear, hotels and associated rentals. These need to be factored into the budget.

Group portraits Shooting group photos is a crap shoot when dealing with photographers. The easy way is to stand everyone in a line. Thats the least expensive photographers go to. I don't do that. An image needs to be interesting, and have personality. I have worked with so many corporate groups over the span of my career that I developed my distinct style of group portraiture that has been extremely appreciated and requested. These shoots are priced according to how many are in the shot. But a basic group is from $650. Feel free to call me with questions on assignments. I'm friendly : )
What about retouching? I am continually educating myself. Retouching and post production is a continual learning curve. That being said I am considered to be a professional digital artist. Its true I am blessed to be able to create just about anything. With over 25 years in post production experience I am very capable with image enhancing, rebuilding, digital effects and image manipulation to hypo-real and surrealistic imagery. Basic or enhanced retouching fees are priced per hour.
Consistency in creating spectacular photographic images with beautiful lighting and brand direction have established Mark Staff as a professional with a look of realism.
Mark brings many skill sets to his game. His creative talents extend far past the lens. First and foremost he is a visionary. His ability to conceptualize an idea into production and make any notion into image realization is amazing. He is a director, an entertainer, a producer, a lighting technical wizard and master photographer all in one heck of a full-throttle package. His post production skills as a digital artist evolve an already fantastic photographic image into the hyper-real.
What this means in the real world is that he not only stands out in an crowd but he sets the bar so high no one can reach it. He is able to produce a photoshoot, create an image in a specific real or fictional scenario specific to a clients need or taste and exceed all expectations. Consistently!
The fees vary depending on complexity.
